Reduction of time to turf harvest in the Netherlands

Reduced time to harvest

The Dutch grower was delighted with the root growth difference. Although this is his second trial, it is the first time he has conducted a spring-sown trial. He typically grows turf in 8-9 months, but not consistently. His aim is to have the September sown turf harvestable by April and be able to resow the field to lift during the winter months (in the following September to March).

This situation isn’t unique. Three other Dutch growers who sowed spring 2024 crops in April and May are also looking forward to starting their harvests in late 2024.
