Potatoes are a crucial crop for global food security but growing them typically requires a lot of resources like fertilisers, pesticides, and water. A recent study, conducted in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast, demonstrates that Maxstim’s advanced biostimulants—derived from natural flavonoid compounds—can enhance potato yields while reducing reliance on these inputs, promoting more sustainable farming practices.

At the forefront of developing complex biostimulant & flavonoid technology

Under the leadership of our CEO, Dr. Richard Salvage, we’ve been at the forefront of developing complex biostimulants and flavonoid technology to support plant health and enhance yields. The results speak for themselves: in both controlled environments and replicated in real field conditions, our biostimulants boosted potato yields by an average of 33%, with a shift towards producing larger tubers. It also increased overall yields by 5.2% in commercial potato crops, adding an impressive £700 per hectare to farmers’ profits.

Our products enhanced photosynthesis, increased chlorophyll levels, and promoted larger leaves, leading to healthier plants and higher yields. These results demonstrate that our cutting-edge formulations are helping farmers grow more sustainably and profitably, making a real difference in the future of potato production.
