Maxstim’s 2024 UK commercial potato trials: data-driven innovation

The UK potato industry faced a turbulent 2024, marked by significant environmental, economic, and operational pressures.

Despite these challenges, Maxstim’s 2024 UK commercial potato trials have provided significant insights into optimising yields and improving crop quality. Through collaborative efforts involving 11 growers and 14 potato varieties, the trials yielded statistically significant results:

• 9% increase in maincrop gross yields: Treated crops demonstrated consistent improvements over untreated crops.
• Enhanced skin finish: Every trial conducted to date showcased visible improvements in skin quality.

With products applied in-furrow at planting and targeted protocols implemented throughout the growing season, these trials exemplify the role of data-driven solutions in improving both yield and quality, even under challenging conditions.
