Chafer Grubs and Leatherjackets pose the number one threat to the Turf industry.
To address this issue we are holding an emergency summit to find an industry-led solution that will take place on the 9th May 2019.
The industry summit is supported by Bionema, Rigby Taylor, Maxstim Ltd, EcoSpray and E.Marker A/S in association with BIGGA, IOG and Horticulture Week Magazine.
This event is not to be missed if you are keen to have your say to develop a preventative strategy for Chafer Grub and Leatherjacket control.
Chemicals that have routinely been used to keep the courses and pitches have now been withdrawn. Whilst it is great that sports venues are becoming more environmentally-conscious, this change will impact how the grass looks and plays unless immediate action is taken.
Without proper preparation and action prior to May 2019 there is a high risk that your grass will be severely attacked by Chafer Grubs and/or Leatherjackets leaving visible damage. Most grounds managers are not aware of the problem until they notice the evidence, such as birds picking at the grubs and larvae in the soil, and dead patches of grass that are left. We know that prevention is better than a cure and a scientifically-developed natural pest control solution when applied in advance will help control the problem.
